You will often hear me talk about how important it is to persuade your heart of God’s love for you. Recently, I have been asked by some, how I persuade or convince my heart of this life-changing truth? It isn’t a difficult process at all, but it does take some focus.

“He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels” (Revelations 3:5).
This is an amazing promise from Jesus. However, sadly, many people hear this promise as a condition to be met and not a promise that gives birth to peace and joy in their hearts.

A well-known preacher made this comment,
“If you don’t realize that there is a ‘cost’ to following Jesus, then you have heard American Christianity.”
While some may see his comment as a statement of deep commitment and consecration, sadly, it violates the reality of the truth of the gospel. It places the focus on man’s efforts and not on what Christ has accomplished in His death, burial, and resurrection for mankind.

A believer can only love others to the degree he or she is being loved by God.
You can’t give to others what you have not received for yourself, and you can’t lead people where you have never been.
