“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).
Religion believes that obeying rules, laws, and commandments is what pleases God. The truth is, only faith pleases God. Abraham lived long before Moses was given the law of God. He pleased God so much that God credited him with righteousness. Why? Because Abe believed in God and His promises to him. God rewarded Abe for His faith.
The author of Hebrews tells us that only faith pleases God! Notice that faith is based not only on believing in the existence of God but that He rewards those who seek Him. A lot of people say they believe there is a God, but their understanding of God is flawed because they see no reason to come to Him. When we see God as Jesus revealed Him to be, we will desire to know Him. This is only possible when you believe God is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Over the years, I have heard a lot of teachings on faith. Many have over complicated a very simple concept. Believe God exists and He rewards those who come to Him. It can’t get any simpler than that. Jesus told Philip “When you see me you see the Father” (John 14:9).
I point this out because we see all through the gospels people seeking Jesus for help. Blind Bartimaeus was rewarded for seeking Jesus by having his eyes opened. The woman with the issue of blood searched for Jesus and fought through a crowd to just touch the hem of His robe. She was rewarded with complete healing. Jairus the leader of the synagogue saw his dead daughter come back to life when he searched for Jesus. There are many other miraculous stories of people who looked for Jesus who were rewarded.
We never hear of a story in the gospels of someone searching for Jesus unable to find Him.
God isn’t hiding from people.
He is always accessible by faith when we know in our hearts He doesn’t just exist but His purpose in existing is rewarding us with His goodness, mercy, grace, and love.
Faith is easy when you know the truth because the truth about God sets you free from the lies and bondages of religion that bind and deceive you.
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]” (John 10:10, AMP).
