Influence is invisible, mysterious and powerful. Many people whom have had a powerful influence on my life, actions and thinking have never met me. But now, even 10, 20 or 30 years later their influence still clings to me. It pulls and it bonds.
Influence is fast and accurate. Influence is always present and universal. A moment of time will change the direction of lives forever. Influence is a mystery It can not be controlled. It is with every one of us. Each of us excerpts the life changing influence. With it you can Bless, you can heal or wound someone intentionally or unintentionally.
Use influence to bless, to lead, to direct, to supply oxygen to the situation under creation.
The Influence of the Father
As the leader of the Christian community, it is an absolute must that review, refreshment and face seeking before the Lord concerning the direction and effects of one’s influence. hourly, if not daily. The outcome of this relationship with the Lord will assure that any program undertaken will be under His direct influence. The success in this will be a motivating force for everyone.
That which is accomplished under this influence leads the focus of the people involved toward the desired goals.
Influence in Caring
One avenue that influence travels down is the act of caring. Without active sincere caring the influence will be leading others astray.
You can not properly influence someone unless you love them, and you cannot fake love.
Influence is real power
Influence is the real power in any situation, not raw strength and force.
Handle Influence
How a Christian handles his influence will be long remembered, much longer than any other aspect of his life.
Godly Influence flowing through you results in the transference of vision.
The source of Influence
Influence brings about leadership that knows how to get things done. The leader may not know everything, but he knows the source of everything.
Influence

The type of leadership that outcomes from this influence is a great service to people who come into contact with it.
Simple and direct
Moses is an example of leadership doing what is supposed to be done and an example of not doing what is supposed to be done.
Background
In the reading below, Moses had led the Israelites out of Egypt after 400 years of bondage. It seemed that the Israelites were complaining about almost everything. His intentions were to take the people to the promised land. This was a big job because of the large numbes of travelers most of whom were not happy about the trip.. Moses were trying to do everything himself. In trying to do everything, not much was getting done. He was working from dawn to dusk trying to please everyone. (see Exodus 18:13–16).
To put it mildly, he was probobly the first well known workaholic.
Older and wiser Influence
Moses came under the watchful eye of his older and wiser father-in-law. His name was Jethro. (see Exodus 18:1)
While observing his son-in-law, like most fathers-in-law do from time to time, he saw that Moses was struggling under a heavy workload. Having the experience of someone who had lived a long life, he realized that Moses would end up getting nothing done and make a mess out of his personal life in the process. Jethro sat Moses down and had a heart to heart talk with him about his job performance. (see Exodus 18:9–12)

1-4 Jethro, priest of Midian and father-in-law to Moses, heard the report of all that God had done for Moses and Israel his people, the news that God had delivered Israel from Egypt. Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, had taken in Zipporah, Moses' wife who had been sent back home, and her two sons. The name of the one was Gershom (Sojourner) for he had said, "I'm a sojourner in a foreign land"; the name of the other was Eliezer (God's-Help) because "The God of my father is my help and saved me from death by Pharaoh."
5-6 Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, brought Moses his sons and his wife there in the wilderness where he was camped at the mountain of God. He had sent a message ahead to Moses: "I, your father-in-law, am coming to you with your wife and two sons."
7-8 Moses went out to welcome his father-in-law. He bowed to him and kissed him. Each asked the other how things had been with him. Then they went into the tent. Moses told his father-in-law the story of all that God had done to Pharaoh and Egypt in helping Israel, all the trouble they had experienced on the journey, and how God had delivered them.
9-11 Jethro was delighted in all the good that God had done for Israel in delivering them from Egyptian oppression. Jethro said, "Blessed be God who has delivered you from the power of Egypt and Pharaoh, who has delivered his people from the oppression of Egypt. Now I know that God is greater than all gods because he's done this to all those who treated Israel arrogantly."
12 Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, brought a Whole-Burnt-Offering and sacrifices to God. And Aaron, along with all the elders of Israel, came and ate the meal with Moses' father-in-law in the presence of God.
13-14 The next day Moses took his place to judge the people. People were standing before him all day long, from morning to night. When Moses' father-in-law saw all that he was doing for the people, he said, "What's going on here? Why are you doing all this, and all by yourself, letting everybody line up before you from morning to night?"
15-16 Moses said to his father-in-law, "Because the people come to me with questions about God. When something comes up, they come to me. I judge between a man and his neighbor and teach them God's laws and instructions."
17-23 Moses' father-in-law said, "This is no way to go about it. You'll burn out, and the people right along with you. This is way too much for you—you can't do this alone. Now listen to me. Let me tell you how to do this so that God will be in this with you. Be there for the people before God, but let the matters of concern be presented to God. Your job is to teach them the rules and instructions, to show them how to live, what to do. And then you need to keep a sharp eye out for competent men—men who fear God, men of integrity, men who are incorruptible—and appoint them as leaders over groups organized by the thousand, by the hundred, by fifty, and by ten. They'll be responsible for the everyday work of judging among the people. They'll bring the hard cases to you, but in the routine cases they'll be the judges. They will share your load and that will make it easier for you. If you handle the work this way, you'll have the strength to carry out whatever God commands you, and the people in
He told him that the work load was too much for him.
He told him that he could not do this job alone
He told him that the people he was trying to lead would get tired of poor leadership
He told him to activily seek God’s will in this cause.
He did not want him to experience “burn out” Did God ever have some one work 18 hour days, 7 days a week in the position of leadership?
He told him to get qualified men to extended your influence, to be the leader leaders
He told him to Understand the call. This includes the recoonizion that moses can do many things well, but not all things at once.

Leadership in the Church
1-7If anyone wants to provide leadership in the church, good! But there are preconditions: A leader must be well-thought-of, committed to his wife, cool and collected, accessible, and hospitable. He must know what he's talking about, not be overfond of wine, not pushy but gentle, not thin-skinned, not money-hungry. He must handle his own affairs well, attentive to his own children and having their respect. For if someone is unable to handle his own affairs, how can he take care of God's church? He must not be a new believer, lest the position go to his head and the Devil trip him up. Outsiders must think well of him, or else the Devil will figure out a way to lure him into his trap.

If they're not backed by a godly life, they accumulate as poison in the soul. Hymenaeus and Philetus are examples, throwing believers off stride and missing the truth by a mile by saying the resurrection is over and done with.
